Thorpe Celebrates Chinese New Year

Yesterday the children (and staff!) enjoyed a fantastic Chinese lunch to celebrate Chinese New Year.

Each year is represented by an animal, and the Lunar New Year festival involves saying goodbye to the animal from the previous year and welcoming in the next. This upcoming year will be the Year of the Horse, the seventh animal in the zodiac order.

We enjoyed sweet and sour chicken and sweet and sour vegetables, served with egg fried rice, special Year of the Horse biscuits and even got to eat with chopsticks! It was a thoroughly enjoyable lunch - thanks to the kitchen team and helpers for all your hard work!
